Sports performance
Sports performance has evolved considerably over recent years. In the beginning your ‘typical’ athlete would do some sports related exercises, receive some coaching and rely on god given talent to do the rest.
In more recent years, the ‘support teams’ for individual athletes have grown beyond just having a coach. Now there are physiotherapists, masseurs and sports psychologists among others who are all there to help the athletes perform at their peak when the occasion demands it.

Sport performance is no longer considered to be just a physical thing. While it requires the body to be in peak condition, the mind has to be right too. This is where hypnotherapy can play an important role in the athlete’s performance. It allows the mind to focus and to ignore outside distractions.

To a large extent, what sets the very best in the world apart from the rest is the ability to shut out all distractions and narrow the focus of attention until all else around effectively disappears.

I got into hypnotherapy to help my son with his football. He currently plays for the youth team of a professional football team. For some time now, he appears to have raw footballing abilities, but lacked in other areas (the mental side of football including positioning). For years I would give him advice on how to improve his game. Although he did listen to me, he was unable to put the advice into action. I then had the opportunity to learn hypnotherapy with a view to helping him. I wrote a bespoke script for him and delivered it prior to an important cup game. The difference in his game was outstanding. The difference difference in his game since hypnotherapy has improved considerably. He incorporated all of the hypnotic suggestions into his game. His work rate was also much improved, and his reactions during a game was also much quicker. Before hypnosis, he would overthink his actions. After hypnosis his actions would be automatic. His subconscious would be making decisions (instinctively). He is a much-improved player since we began using hypnotherapy.
